«The concept of a residential cell for a new social environment»

The aim of the competition is to create and develop new architectural and spatial concepts of settlements consisting of autonomous residential cells, on the principle of adaptive resettlement, which provide harmonious interaction with the natural environment and social environment.

Subject:

Modeling adaptive living space for a new social environment

Starting positions (preamble)

A person has the right to a living volume and part of the natural environment by birthright, easily produced and disposed of living modules, migrate with the occupant or are disposed of and recreated for him in a new place of resettlement.

Residential modules provide for the presence of external living space of land or water bodies to maintain human-natural connection in existing ecosystems.

Transport arteries imply possibility, growth, transformation, and adaptation to time-changing loads from traffic flows. The minimal impact of transport systems on the ground is welcome.

Cities are transformed into centers of business and social activity of the population, taking into account the preservation of historical heritage, without the possibility of living in them large groups of people on a permanent basis. Existing megacities are being transformed and resettled.

Agricultural and industrial zones are organically integrated into the architecture of the new living environment and are based on the use of advanced technologies that exclude their conflict with the existing Biosphere.

The basic rules for architectural modeling

  1. Modeling residential settlements on the basis of individual residential cells using principle, one person — one living space.

(Remark — Autonomy and benefit to society.)

  1. The use of transformative and self-developing forms of residential cells that correspond to changes in life circumstances (if life circumstances change or when starting a family). Use methods to combine cells, mobile movement, fast playback and recycling based on the needs and changes in society. Applying the latest materials, technologies and predictive trends in creating the living space of the future.

(Remarky — The Idea of a Transformable Space.)

  1. Modeling new, convenient and high-tech transport arteries capable of providing rapid and non-fast movement, in new models of resettlement, without irreversible environmental change.

(Remarky — The road controls the car.)

  1. Creating new types of agglomerations as centers for socially useful activities and development of the creative potential of society. Transformation and resettlement of existing megacities taking into account the preservation of historical heritage, and the exclusion of large groups of people living in them on a permanent basis.

(Remarky — Autonomy and dependence on cities.)

  1. Designing organic industrial and agricultural zones to meet the needs of the population, using new manufacturing processes.
  2. Using the principle of Adaptive Settlement, taking into account the features of existing ecosystems, landscapes and climatic differences of the chosen region.

(Remarky — Two types of resettlement on the Planet)

  1. Minimal impact on ecosystems and fertile soil is welcomed when new resettlement systems are set up.

(Remarky — Where to Stick Trees.)

To better understand the topic, we recommend reading the REMARK section on the Project’s website.

You will be able to Vote and Comment On The Contest’s Projects two weeks before the Jury meeting.

The main idea of the Competition

Designing a new social environment in conjunction with Nature from the position of Architect.

The project concept should reflect the transition from an «aggressive» resettlement system that fundamentally changes the environment to an «adaptive» form of integration of human settlements into existing eco-systems.

A person has the right to a living volume and part of the natural environment by birthright, easily produced and disposed of living modules, migrate with the occupant or are disposed of and recreated for him in a new place of resettlement.

Residential modules provide for the presence of external living space of land plots or reservoirs to maintain human-natural connection in existing ecosystems.

The second stage is the construction of new settlements and agglomerations using a personal residential cell based on new public relations and advanced technologies.
